Like you, writing...What a great post about writing. Like you, writing a blog definitely requires lots of drafting, editing and re-writing for me, before I post. I write letters, and way back in high school, I began editing my letters before I sent them. My best friend discovered me working through a series of drafts of a letter to my boyfriend one day, and she thought I was absolutely nuts to do that, but I didn’t care...I just knew that the thought of anyone reading what I wrote, even in a letter, caused me to be particular about the words I used, and how I strung them together on a page.

And I love what you wrote about blogging: “this microcosm of what I should be, what I would love to be.” This prompts me to say something...here’s the thing...you may do something else to pay the bills...most of us do...but Lisa, you ARE a writer, first and foremost. You have the ability and the gift to be able to write things that are true, meaningful, topical and engaging, as you so well put it...you’re able to do that, to communicate and connect with strangers, through the words you write...and you have the readers to prove it. You are a writer, and I’m happy to be one of your readers.

:)

JudiemmapeelDallashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05045502725282481075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19600143.post-1144581353738447762006-04-09T04:15:00.000-07:002006-04-09T04:15:00.000-07:00That`s beautifully written. I love that people read and sometimes even enjoy my little online journal. I think that the changes in readership as AOL blogs grew, changed and then exploded taught me a few good lessons on virtual relationships. Some are true gold, but it's not so easy now for someone with whom there hasn't been mutual reading and commenting for some time to get a piece of my heart. For me the hard part of having journal readers now is picking my subjects. There are times when what I want to write about the most is what I simply can't put into my journal. However you look at it, online journalling changes the way you write.Cynthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11641264346663533706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19600143.post-1144514204282757802006-04-08T09:36:00.000-07:002006-04-08T09:36:00.000-07:00Knowing that people are reading you does make you ...Knowing that people are reading you does make you work on the craft of writing more.
